We would like to raise your attention to the forthcoming call for papers.
Call for Papers, Special Issue on ‘Football and Health Improvement’
Guest Editors: Daniel Parnell and Andy Pringle
Following on from our co-edited Special Issue ‘Football and Inclusivity’, which is currently in-press, colleagues at the Centre of Active Lifestyles (Institute of Sport Physical Activity and Leisure, Leeds Metropolitan University) seek to build upon their growing interest in the social role of football. This call for papers, seeks authors to contribute to a important and growing area of work. This Special Issue of the journal of Soccer & Society, ‘Football and Health Improvement’, will be edited by Parnell and Pringle, with a publication date expected in late 2015.
The special issue aims to reflect the multidisciplinary nature of the current work undertaken in football and health improvement, providing an interesting balance of academic and practitioner articles. In this regard, we are keen for both researcher-led and practitioner-led contributions from those working within football and health improvement, including intervention studies. Importantly, the articles will contribute to the critical study on the extent to which football might play a positive and role in health improvement across local communities.
